This is my blog about my P90X journey. They are short, not long, and aren't exactly for everyone, I just chose to share it. I wanted to keep things organized, and this seemed like a good way to do it.

Day 17 of P90X - Oct 31st 2012
Day 17 - Arms and Shoulders - First time using my 15 lbs weights with this routine, and man, did it intensify the workout! Everything was much more challenging, and I felt it! It seemed like my biceps and shoulders were gonna burst out of my skin! But I loved it! My triceps need work, but they will get there, eventually. This is my last time doing the Arms and Shoulders routine for another 6 weeks, or so, but it's not the last of the arms being worked out. I'm excited for the future of this program, and cannot wait to change it up a little bit. My arms have become much more defined thanks to this program, and I love it! My showers feel more rewarding, the protein drinks taste much more satisfying, and my energy level is still high up! Tomorrow's Yoga X is gonna hurt and feel great! Cannot wait! 17 days down, 73 days to go!

Day 16 of P90X - Oct 30th 2012
Day 16 - Plyometrics - Another intense round of Plyo, I am still feeling myself push and push to my max, and maybe, sometimes, beyond my limits. I started seeing stars today, I was going so intense into it. I had to settle myself down for a few seconds before starting the next workout. Once I got myself into a groove, it was hard to stop. I love the 'sports bonus' exercises at the end, they are intense, but feel second nature to me, since I love sports. I wanted to do my Ab Ripper that I missed, yesterday, but I got a massage at work, and man, are my hip flexors torn up! I didn't want to risk ruining a job well done by my colleague, so I decided that I'll just cut my losses and move on and not worry about it. I've been doing such a great job, I do not want to discourage myself with negativity and regrets. Tomorrow, I have Arms and Shoulders, which will be very intense, now that I found my heavier weights, again! 16 days down, 74 days to go!

Day 15 of P90X - Oct 29th 2012
Day 15 - Back and Chest - A win and loss for me today. A win as I pushed myself harder than ever to the point that during my post-workout shower, I could barely take my hand to wash my back. It felt very refreshing and extremely rewarding! On the downside, my hip flexor muscles decided not to cooperate today, along with my right calf cramping constantly, all during my Ab Ripper X workout. I could not finish my Ab Ripper because the hip flexor's inability to relax took away all my range of motion during the reps of Ab workouts, making it useless to even attempt. I'll do it tomorrow to make up for it, if it'll be in better shape. I know it's not recommended to do the Ab workout twice in a row, but I feel maybe I can handle it. This is the third, and last, week of Phase 1, and I'm feeling like challenging myself more than I ever have in the past two weeks, seeing if I can really "Bring It" as Tony Horton would continuously spat in my face as he runs circles around me during the workouts. So, this should be a very fun, and painful, week of P90X. Wish me luck! 15 days down, 75 days to go! I am 1/6th of the way there!

Day 14 of P90X - Oct 28th 2012
Day 14 - Stertch X - Well, today was quite the lazy day, and I considered just resting, but then I realized, I need to be serious about this stuff. If I can't be serious about just a short hour of stretching, I don't need to be doing this! I lost my P90X partner, hopefully, I can encourage her to continue, but she got a bit discouraged, thinking she isn't doing the exercises properly, lately. I think she can do it, she just needs to get her mind right. Once you get your mind right, you can do anything! I, for example, went into this knowing I cannot let my mind beat out my body, I had to push through. While I cut my sessions short in the first two days, I had more physical issues holding me back than mental, so you just gotta listen to your body, when doing this, not your mind. Anyways, the stretching was amazing, and now I'm ready for my last week of Phase 1 before a recovery week, then switching it up into Phase 2! 14 days down, 76 days to go!
Day 13 of P90X - Oct 27th 2012
Day 13 - Kenpo X - Whew! Today was probably the most difficult day due to a friend's wedding. I decided today would be a bit of a cheat day in terms of eating, ate about 5-6 slices of pizza, around 8pm, and I didn't do Kenpo, yet! A few people thought I'd go home and go to bed, when I left around 10, but I just let my stomach settle, did a few things around the house, popped in Kenpo around 1am, and did it! It felt great, I felt I got rid of all the crap I just ate, and now I'm gonna sleep very well! I love the fact I was able to will myself past the excuses I could have made to not do Kenpo X today, and just push forward. It felt very refreshing, and made my night! Tomorrow I am gonna be stretching with Stretch X, with a nice break from the high intensity stuff. I love how the Stretch X program gets my body prepped for another week of beating up my body! 13 days down, 77 to go!

Day 12 of P90X - Oct 26th 2012
Day 12 - Legs and Back - Late entry(morning after). While standing a laying down tells me I haven't done much with legs, it's when I get up that reminds me I worked them out. They aren't entirely sore, though, so I'm wondering if maybe I didn't do them right, although while working out, they hurt like hell(Damn wall squats). The pull-ups are still a bit difficult without an assist, but I'm making progress. The Ab Ripper still kills me, and that's a good sign, since I keep getting better and better at it. I had a friend tag along with me for the first half of Legs and Back, however, his wrist issues limited him, and he decided to slow down for the night. It feels good doing this, but I'm sore this morning, glad I have two days to do Kenpo and Stretching, both seem pretty legitimately important. Kenpo is up next. 12 days down, 78 to go!

Day 11 of P90X - Oct 25th 2012
Day 11 Yoga X - Yoga X, I think is the one that I love/hate a lot. I hate the first half, it gets so intense, but the second half seems to be a treat, or reward, for going through the first half. I did it much earlier than I normally do, doing it before work, and I felt great at work. Full of energy, and wide awake! This program seems to truly work as well as it has been advertised. I'm impressed with the whole thing, the workouts, the setup, the schedule, it all seems to work extremely well. Fridays, from now on, will be big tests for my commitment, since my 3 hour class will start, tomorrow. I work 10am to 5pm, then have a 3 hour lecture from 6pm to 9pm. We'll see how gassed I am from everything by the time I get home. I am sure I'll be fine, but Legs and Back/Ab Ripper X await me Fridays. 11 days down, 79 to go!

Day 10 of P90X - Oct 24th 2012
Day 10 - Arms and Shoulders - Felt good doing this again. I don't quite have the weights I'd like for some of the exercises, but I have to work with what I have. It has been coming much easier to finish these sets that are troublesome with 10 lb weights(Mostly just tri and shoulder, biceps need more weight). It still feels like a good workout, raising repetition and concentrating more on the form and finding ways to make the workouts more difficult with these weights(such as lowering my arms slowly, to increase resistance). But the highlight for me was in Ab Ripper X, where I was able to do the very first exercise doing all 25 reps without break! That was huge for me because the first Ab Ripper I did, I think I could only get to 10 or 12, then started rolling around in pain. Ha! It felt good to just get that one. However, the rest were still difficult, but I'm feeling the burn, I'm feeling the struggle, so I know I'll get results and I'll get better as time goes along. I'm feeling great, my body is lasting longer, and it's starting to show improvement, and in only 10 days! Go me! 10 days down, 80 to go!

Day 9 of P90X - Oct 23 2012
Day 9 - Plyometrics - Whoooo! Going along with the trend of yesterday, in the first week, I couldn't finish this workout, getting a little past halfway before having to stop because my body temperature was getting far too high and I was starting to feel sick from over-working myself. I got to the point where I was last time, and I felt sick again, so I stepped away for a few minutes, got a fan, positioned it on my body, and it helped tremendously! I was able to finish the rest of the workout with much more ease. The recovery drink I've been taken(ON Gold Standard- Rich Double Chocolate with Kre-Alkalyn and a banana) has been doing wonders for keeping me feeling strain-free the next day. Also, Nature Made Multi-vitamins along with fish oil pills to help with numerous other things the body needs, has been keeping me healthy. My body has changed a little, it's noticeable(One way I see, is that my lotion holster from work is getting a little loose around my waist), and it feels great! Tomorrow is Arms and Shoulders, and I'll be looking forward to it, since it's the least painful to get through for me. 9 days down, 81 to go! At the 10% mark! Go me!

Day 8 of P90X - Oct 22nd 2012
Day 8 - Back and Chest - Second round of the first week's routine, starting with Back and Chest again. Man, did this feel so much better on a much emptier stomach. I was able to get through the workout fine, while I still struggled, I felt I got a MUCH more efficient workout, this time around. Pushups and Pullups were never my strong points in High School, and it shows how far I am from being as fit as someone my size should be. Afterwards, while I was doing my recovery, and cool down, and shower, etc. I could feel the pecs and back muscles get tight and struggling to gain flexibility back. It felt GREAT! I feel so confident and so much more willing to push myself more and more each day. The first week was a great way to find out where I was, and week two shows me how far I've come in just a week. Everything is getting worked, everything is getting stronger, more toned, and I'm getting much more energy! This is amazing! Tomorrow, I try to finish Plyometrics, after falling short, last time. 8 days down, 82 days to go!

Day 7 of P90X - Oct 21st 2012
Day 7 - X Stretch - Did my body need this. A great stretch routine that takes nearly an hour and focuses on the parts of the body you use. Not exactly the best all-around routine, but as I said, it does what you really need. My body is feeling pretty good, right now, and I'll be looking forward to seeing how my Back and Chest routine has changed from the first day of P90X. Week 1 is over, and week 2 is starting up, right away with the same routines. And then week 3 is one more repeat of these first two weeks before week 4 gives me mostly cardio and recovery routines to get my body primed and ready for the second phase of P90X. No need for a recovery drink, since I didn't really work myself very hard. Bring it, Week 2! 7 days down, 83 days to go!

Day 6 of P90X - Oct 20th 2012
Kenpo X - Wow was this fun, I had my friend, Caleigh, who is also doing P90X along with me, over to do this one and it was pretty intense. Had to stop a few times because she was having trouble getting a good rhythm and tempo down, but we eventually got it down pat! My legs hurt afterwards and hamstrings even cramped up at one point! There wasn't a whole lot to report about this day, but I'm looking forward to Stretch X tomorrow! 6 days down, 84 to go!

Day 5 of P90X - Oct 19th 2012
Day 5 - Legs and Back - I feel I may have depended too much on the chair, this time around, when doing the pullups, although when I did concentrate to not handicap myself, I can tell I was able to lift myself much easier. The legs portion was crazy, especially the Wall Crouch, or whatever it was called. However, thanks to keeping up on my intake of my recovery routine, I think I'm starting to get used to this work on my body, and it's getting more and more able to be ready for the routine ahead. I weighed myself about 2 months ago and was at about 235-240-ish and weighed today at a local Publix(not an official scale, but it's not completely inaccurate) and came on with 225, which means I'm am making progress not just because of the exercise, but because my eating habits have improved, in the last few weeks. Ab Ripper still kills me, but hopefully, I'll be able to complete a set of SOMETHING before gassing out. Kenpo X is next. 5 days down, 85 days to go.
Day 4 of P90X - Oct 18th 2012
Day 4 - Yoga X - Holy cow, what a workout that was. I was going into this figuring it'd be tough, but relaxing, and while it was relaxing, it wasn't until halfway through that we actually got to that. I believe this is the longest video of the P90X videos at about an actual 90 minutes. 45 focused on intense power moves that require a lot of will power and concentration and great breathing to get through. At about halfway, I was close to calling it a day because I was just sweating up a storm and unable to hold positions without slipping on my mat. However, once I let the video keep going, we did some amazing stretch moves that really relaxed the muscles worked from the earlier exercises. The video that gave me the hardest moveset to attempt, also felt the most satisfying, so far. Had my drink and banana, and multi-vitamins and looking forward to tomorrow, where Legs and Back are waiting. 4 days down, 86 to go!
Day 3 of P90X - Oct 17th 2012
Day 3 of P90X: Shoulders and Arms - The easiest video, so far. Finished it with relative ease. Although my weight selection is limited(Only have 10s and my 15s are at my parents in Ocala), it was still a stressing workout routine. It was a nice break from the intensity of the first two. Also, after Chest and Back, there was a Ab RipperX clip after that, as well as the Shoulders and Arms, so I trie
d it for the first time today. Wow, that 15 minutes was WAY more intense than the 50 minutes of shoulders and arms. Time to get rid of this beer keg of a belly. My selected recovery drink has beenOptimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey Protein Double Rich Chocolate flavor with a small scoop of Kre-Alkalyn creatine powder in 2% milk and a banana, and man, is it delicious after these workouts. It's nice to have a good tasting treat after beating yourself up. Tomorrow is Kenpo X. 3 days down, 87 to go.
Day 2 of P90X - Oct 16th 2012
Day two of P90x: Plyometrics- Wow, did I underestimate this program. At the beginning, Horton even said that beginners should start with CardioX. However, I told him to shut up and get going, and he did. I felt good the first half, it was intense, and it really showed how much in poor condition my hamstrings were in, flexibility and strength-wise. At about the 60% mark, my left leg buckled and gave out, so that ended my run with this program. Silver Lining: I'm excited to see the improved energy and condition I'll be in after this first 90 days are over, because I feel I will be sticking with it a little longer til my body can keep up with all these damn videos. 2 days down, 88 to go.
Day 1 of P90X - Oct 15th 2012
In order to be more accurate and organized in my P90X journey, I've decided to do this blog. The first three days are prior to this blog, being posted on Facebook, originally. I am going to copy/paste those on here, now.
First Day of P90X: Probably the worst outing I'll have, since my upper body strength is lacking. Backs and Chest. Unfortunately, this whole day was killing my momentum because I had no time in the day to eat any sort of food. I literally got my first sustenance with a cold glass of rich, chocolaty Ovaltine close to 9pm. At the time, I was planning to start tomorrow. However, Daniel Luis Santiago Campbell

's constant bitching about me making excuses pushed me to try it, and with a glass of milk in my stomach, halfway through I felt sick, so I stopped early. Took probably the most difficult shower I'll ever take, barely being able to move my arms. Thankfully, my protein powder is absolutely delicious, so I look forward to continue using it. 1 day down, 89 to go!
